by KittensKill at 5am, December 27th, 2008 in GeneralJust reading through the comments of my I HATE EMO KIDS post… why would I be writing for Emo The Blog if I were a hater? Really, are people that stupid? I don’t think most people even understood what I meant. I was talking about the stereotype. I hate the stereotype that people try to conform to, and yet so many people took it personally. It proved my point even further, anyone who took offense or disagreed with me, that post was directed at you. Anyone who agreed with me is either a hater themselves, or actually understood what I meant.
This is the most important part of that post:
“I don’t hate you, I don’t hate the way you dress, and I don’t hate the music you listen to. What I do hate is the stereotype you’ve helped create. I hate the way YOU have helped to give emo a bad name.”
Why did so many people take offense to being told the truth?
Other people don’t really care about YOU. Everyone is out for themselves.
This is what I meant by Equality is Fiction. Everyone talks about how we should all be equals, I disagree.
You strive to be different, yet complain when you’re treated differently. How is that supposed to work?
If you don’t want to be treated differently (taking the bad with the good), then don’t try to be different.
And here’s something important to consider: having a differing opinion is not the same as hating.

I’ve developed several nervous conditions and I live with depression and anxiety. I have bpd. I am in foster care which is totally cruddy. BUT HEY…I’M STILL LIVING. I hate that I went the stages of “cutting and burning” and I did try killing myself, several times. Am I emo?? I duno. It’s just a title. I would liek to consider it “Having a past”!! Everyone does. People go through trials and they get on with their lives. I’m not looking for sympathy, but understanding. And the way I see it…I’m not begging anyone to accept me how I am b/c the truth is…after everybody makes their assumptions and their judgements, I’m still living. THE END… I love the music I listen to which DOES vary!! I love wild colors and dark things. Call me different or call me a clone. I am who I say I am and nothing can change that. I hope I’m getting the true understanding of what you are trying to say, but even if I dont…I’m still going to be me. So yeah, fuck stereotypes…JUST BE YOU. enjoy your indifference to society. The EMO music well i dont think its any kind of genre, cause alot of people that call bands EMO cause of some of the songs that they make that describe the guys/girls bad relationship isnt EMO…what band doesnt put up a song like that?

Emo is amazing! People are pathetic. I like the “scene” more, if that makes sense. Like my livid thorn tees, my pop punk and screamo bands like ADTR etc etc. Haters are insecure and we all lol@them!!!
